Speech to motion- Multi Purpose Taxi Program release of documents
I rise to say that Mr Grimley and I support Mr Barton’s motion. I will speak to his call for more transparency through this documents production motion in relation to two areas, in particular. Those are passenger wellbeing and safety – and the future of taxi services in regional and rural areas, including in many towns in my electorate of Northern Victoria.
QWON- Early prisoner release
My question is to the new Attorney-General, Ms Symes. It follows my 10th December Question Without Notice to former Attorney-General Hennessy about the remarkable decrease during 2020 in the number of people held in Victorian jails. It also follows revelations from journalist Aneeka Simonis in last Sunday’s Herald Sun. These show that around 5,000 convicted criminals have been released early because of the special COVID-19 emergency management day rules.
Members Statement- Mansfield Autism Statewide Services
Mansfield Austism Statewide Services (MASS) provide assistance for 300 families from across Victoria. Since 1968 this service has provide a ‘wrap around’ model of care to support children with autism and their families by building skills of independence through a strengths based approach.
Adjournment- Fast Track Remand Court
My matter is for the Attorney-General. It is about the Fast Track Remand Court (or FTRC, for short) that operates as part of the Children’s Court of Victoria.
Constituency Question- Safe triage for family violence victims
My question is for the Prevention of Family Violence Minister regarding the need for safe and confidential entry areas for family violence victims.
