Keeping pressure on the government to make sure ambulance, fire and emergency services are properly funded, staffed and equipped so you can get help when you need it.

I secured an extra $14.8 million from the government to boost regional ambulance resources, including extra paramedics and ambulances for peak period units deployed to Eaglehawk and Gisborne, more capacity for ambulance services in Benalla, Castlemaine and Daylesford, and increasing on-call to the 24-hour service coverage.

I presented a 999-signature petition to Parliament to restore on-call ambulance services in the Seymour community.

Welcome funding for regional ambulance service

Country Fire Authority units like Kiewa Fire Brigade are keen to provide immediate first aid while an ambulance is dispatched. More than 80 per cent of members are first-aid trained and could fill the emergency gap.

Mallee Track Health and Community Service and Tallangatta Health Service are also trialling a community paramedic service until mid-year. HMS Collective is already providing in-home community paramedic support in Central Victoria and care and support for in-home carers in the North East.
