My question is to the Minister for Ambulance Services and it relates to the recent announcement that Chiltern will now have a single paramedic with Ambulance Community Officer support. I have received local reports that Chiltern actually had a single paramedic for some time after concerns were raised last year, so this permanent allocation is extremely welcome.

None of the 27 local government areas in my electorate reached the benchmark of 85% of Code-1 responses under 15 minutes in the latest data release, so I maintain the view that ambulance resourcing is a very serious concern in my electorate.

The role of Ambulance Community Officers is expanding, and we need to ensure sufficient training is in place to support them in this serious undertaking. Paramedics complete 4 years of university and ongoing updates with clinical practice guidelines, so I ask the Minister to confirm what training and certification is, or will be, in place to support ACOs in their important work with paramedics?
